How wouldn’t director Chris Wentz recognize such a great talent, Tinsel Korey, who is going to be playing Emily in New Moon. She is known as a “triple threat performer” with her singing, dancing, and acting skills (also very beautiful, is that a talent, as well?) Lucky for us, Twilight  Lexicon was able to catch an interview with her discussing her experience on the New Moon set as Emily Young.

Have you read the Twilight Saga books? If yes, which book is your favorite and why?

I have read New Moon, and I’m reading Eclipse right now. I also own Breaking Dawn. I’ll have to get back to you on which one is my favorite.

What was the audition process like for you?

I auditioned in L.A. with the director Chris Weitz and casting directors Rene Haynes and Joseph Middleton. Filming was great, Chris is a very warm and talented director. I can’t wait to see his vision of New Moon come to life.

Did you, along with the other cast members who were also in the Quileuete roles, spend any time building back-stories or relationships?
I built my back-story before I met the boys, I already had an idea of who Emily was. Meeting and hanging out with the boys only helped build upon what my prior thoughts already were. I think when we all hung out the back-story just was there in who we were. Most of us are pretty similar to our characters.

You seem to gravitate toward roles where you play strong women with interesting pasts. What types of things excite you when considering a role?
I never really realized that I did gravitated towards that till you mentioned it, then I thought about it, and I guess I do. Lol. Material that I get excited about, are the ones that give me an opportunity to break stereotypes.

There are some major, powerhouse actors in the New Moon cast. Did you ever find yourself getting a little star-struck or tongue tied around any of them?
Nope. They’re just normal people.

How would you describe your vision of Emily Young?

Oh god, I don’t think I’m allowed to right a novel for this interview. Lol. So let me summarize in one sentence. She’s a survivor, the heart and soul of the team, when they’re down she brings them up. She’s the one you want to have in your corner.

Do you have anything more that you’d like to share with Twilight fans?

I’d like to thank them for all the support I’ve received and I’m glad I get to be on this journey with them. HUGZ.

If you want more Tinsel, you can read more HERE or EVEN listen to her perform some great songs on her .

Comic-con, an annual fan convention in San Diego, is having a HUGE turn out with Twilight fans. During the press conference Rob, Kristen, and Taylor were asked questions from reporters and the surrounding audience. Here is the full press conference at Comic-Con yesterday with Rob Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner:

In the Fandango “New Moon” movie set report, Taylor Lautner revealed his intense workout plans. He is training like a true athlete!

Taylor stated, “I’d wake up and my trainer would be like, ‘You need to have six egg whites, bacon, and toast. It became a lot. That was the hardest part, especially putting something in my mouth every two hours. At one point, my trainer was literally like, ‘Put anything in your mouth! Go to McDonald’s. Get the biggest shake possible. I just need get calories in you!’ Because my body fat at that time was only 7 ½ percent.”

In the recent interview with Interview Magazine (a few posts down), Taylor stated, “The day I finished Twilight, I came home and started bulking up. For New Moon, I’m 30 pounds heavier than I was in Twilight.”

In the Twilight series, Jacob continually grows at a fast rate. He is supposed to be even BIGGER in the future film, Eclipse. His next goal: gaining another 10 pounds of muscle. Hope he enjoys milkshakes!

15 Things You May or May Not Know About Pattinson

July 19th, 2009 | Robert Pattinson, Twilight News | No Comments »

One reporter from hollywood.com sat around the new set of New Moon for two days simply examining Pattinson to inform us of things we may not know!

Here are the lists in brief:
1. Robert Pattinson is a sugar hound, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and a can of coke preferably.
2. “Edward Cullen” was embroidered on the back of his chair, but was covered in yellow tape and rewritten over with his actual name, ROBERT.
3. In one scene for New Moon Robert wears an ankle-length maroon cloak (VOLTUUUURI)
4. Robert was in need of the green screen for most of the new film.
5. Robert seems very eager to end his work day.
6. Despite some crazed fans, on the set he seemed very friendly to them. He was introduce to Rachelle Leferve’s little sister and was all smiles.
7. In New Moon, Edward is simply a voice in Bella’s head. However, in the film, he appears to bella in vision form.
8. Of course, Robert is entirely gorgeous.
9. This picture from March 2009 GQ hangs in the production office at Vancouver Sound Studios.

10. The reporter captured one of the scenes and stated:
“I stood behind Stephenie Meyer while watching Pattinson, Stewart, Ashley Greene, Michael Sheen, Cameron Bright and Dakota Fanning film a scene in the Volturri lair. It went a little something like this:

Edward, Bella and Alice stand in front of the Volturri. Edward, looking many gray shades of haggard, takes a dramatic step toward the vampires and seems to hit an invisible wall. He crumbles to the ground, writhing in pain. Alice, wearing red gloves, crouches down to tend to him.

Bella: “Stop, stop! Try it on me. Just stop hurting him!” ”

The scene was done atleast 5 times, and everytime Pattinson’s body was fully thrown into the ground. His work must hurt.

11. He has a very confident swagger of a guy that does well with the ladies.
12. Rachelle Leferve says despite the “international pandemonium he causes” Robert is just a very humble and down to earth guy.
13. People cater left and right to him.
14. Lautner seems to be a little jealous over Pattinson. When reporter asked Lautner the one bonus power he would give himself as Jacob he responded, “I want to steal one of Edward’s powers”
15. The only time she saw Kristen Stewart not on screen was when she walked by me on her way to the set. She was with Robert. Real suprising.
